Day 2!

WOW Two days in a row! Woo hoo! I need your help to stay accountable!

Day 02- The meaning behind your blog name.

Meet Pootie! I am not too sure how we came up with Pootie but that has been her nick name since day 1! I really like Pootie Marie and Jay's favorite Pootielicious!!!!! I started this blog right after she was born. Surviving was all I was doing! Lindsey was a special challenge the moment she was born and I thought I would never do more than survive! Praise God that surviving lasted only 3 or 4 months! I started the blog to keep family and friends updated but it has turned out to be more of a form of therapy. I will start writing about something negative and as write and edit my perspective changes and my post turns into the exact opposite as what it started! So that is how the blog became "Surviving Pootie." Now I am only surviving part-time! haha

Oct 13th

This time 4 years ago I was trying to decide whether or not to go on a blind date in "The City." I was at a spot in my life where I was open to God's influence in my dating life! I suppose He decided that I gave in enough that He would rock my world. Friday Oct. 13th I drove from Shawnee, OK to the ghetto in OKC. I walked into Rococo's with no expectations and left calling my dad telling him I met this great friend. The date continued to a haunted house and talking till 3 or 4 in the morning. I opened myself just enough to God's influence that He was able to place the most amazing friend in my life. Oct. 13th is so important to the both of us that we do not even acknowledge our wedding anniversary! My life at the time I met Jay was so volatile! I was so unsure of myself and frankly did not think to highly of me! The difference was I stopped fighting God and God was then able to place someone in my life that could love me so unconditionally that I began to understand how much Christ truly loved me! I challenge you to stop wrestling with God and allow Him to rock your world!

Jesus Loves Me!

Question of the day. . .

Who challenges you spiritually? Who in your life makes you want to seek God even harder to know Him more intimately? My answer. . .

I get busy and rush and out of the blue Lindsey will say loudly Pray momma! Every time it just blows my mind that this little miracle can stop me dead in my tracks and tell me I need to pray. This morning I was pulling out of the garage and she yelled at me to pray! So I did. Apparently that wasn't enough so half way to school we had to pray again! Shame that it takes my daughter to remind me to talk to my Father!!!

So. . . . who pushes you???

Uggh Sick

We are sick in the Dunks household! Well just Lindsey! She is not the kind of sick where all she wants to do is snuggle! No, she is throw up and then pissed for a few minuets then run around like crazy! Have some diarrhea, doctor her bottom, and run around like crazy. After lunch I let her lay in my bed and watch all the Nick Jr. she could stay awake through! Lucky for me it was one episode of Little Bill! She took an awesome 3 hour nap and then threw up again and this time she thought it was too funny! She kept dinner, breakfast, and lunch down so far but did have some diarrhea which is my fault! I tried Quinoa for the first time on my family and just read that it can act as a laxative! Greeeeeeaaaaat!

On a less disgusting note I love these pictures of her! She is the sweetest little girl I know with a side of crazy!

Ivy League

Stop the presses Lindsey knows her colors!!! Look out Ivy league schools here we come! She was sitting down with a book today and just started pointing at colors and saying the correct color. Now I realize I am crazy for being so excited but we have been working forever on this!!!!
Now to get her to learn her numbers in the correct order! She says 1, 2, 2, 1 over and over.

In other Lindsey related news we are potty training. Today i was brave and decided to let her wear big girl panties as we did our errands. She did great and even used public potties until Panera. I swear we went potty 10 mind earlier but as we were waiting on our food she peed all over the bench! :( Nothing a quick wipe up couldn't handle but man we were doing good!

We are off to AR. for Dillan's 6th birthday in 2 days and I am excited!

Week With MeMaw

This is for you Bekah Lou!!!

A couple weeks ago Lindsey and I went to stay with my Memaw, after she was discharged from the hospital! I went thinking this would be good for my grandma. Turns out the week was meant for me! God really spoke to me about some struggles in my heart and gave me and Lindsey some much needed nothing to do or go to time! I truly enjoyed taking my grandma with me everywhere! We went to the park, the doctor, the safari, to eat, the post office, ect. It was so nice to see my aunts every night as they came and checked in on us! The best part was each night Lindsey would crawl up in Memaw's lap and snuggle close to watch Touched by an Angel! She loved the special time to snuggle and to be spoiled. Funny how God will use less than stellar events to bring you rest and peace! I am so in love with my Father and how much He provides when I do not even realize I am in need! If I just asked for God to provide me with monetary means I would be missing out on the true gifts. God answered my needs with a week away and family time!
